All teachers and students gathered at the school hall on 14th September, 2015 for the Inauguration and School Opening Ceremony, officiated by Auxiliary Bishop Joseph HA, Chi-shing OFM. At the ceremony, Auxiliary Bishop Joseph introduced the theme ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given (Matthew 25:29a), to all teachers and students. He reminded us not to hide talent but to use it wisely in every aspect in our life. Our supervisor, Sister Lucy, and school principal, as well as other guests were also present at the inauguration.
All teaching staff and Catholic students of IHMC, IHMS and IHMK attended Our Lady of Sorrow Feast Day Mass, concelebrated by Reverend Cyril CHEUNG Lok-tin and Rev. Joseph LIU Ah-lun, alumni of Immaculate Heart of Mary College at St Alfred’s Church on 15th September, 2015. Reverend Cyril reminded us: “suffering is not ruthless; we should all accept the suffering, considering God suffered the pain because of us. If someone is suffering, it is the will of God, we should be willing to suffer.” Reverend Cyril and Reverend Joseph imparted blessings after the mass.

Immaculate Heart of Mary College held its 35th Anniversary Walkathon on 28th February 2016 in Shatin. About 800 participants including our School Supervisor Sister Lucy Chung, principal, parents, alumni and students of IHMC participated in this memorable event. Sisters of Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows, Principal Mok, the PTA Chairperson Fung Mei Wah, School managers and committee members of Parent-Teacher Association officiated at the opening ceremony. The ceremony was commenced by the welcoming speech delivered by School Supervisor Sister Lucy Chung.
On 3rd June, Staff and students celebrated The Feast Days of Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the School Hall. Reiterating the significance of Feast Days, our supervisor, Sister Lucy Chung restated that students should learn from the virtues of Our Lady to love God and others unreservedly in a bid to become a bold and giving person to serve. Representatives from the Parent-Teacher Association and student representatives presented gifts to the Supervisor, Principal and teachers to show their gratitude.
The long-awaited Variety Show to mark the school’s 35th anniversary was successfully staged in the school hall on 8th July 2016. The show about pursuing dreams showcased songs, dance, musical, orchestra and juggling (performed by IHMK, IHMS and IHMC students). The joint effort was well-received.
Reunion Dinner was the last celebration event for the school’s 35th anniversary programmes, It was organized by IHMA in the school hall on 9th July evening. Some 600 guests, alumni and staff gathered to share happy moments that took place previously on campus. After the prayer and the school song led by the Supervisor, Sister Lucy, singing by the alumni and sharing by the three retiring teachers, the meal came just in time for all of the guests to continue to enjoy wondrous moments together.
